Pilates & Dance Instruction
A native of the valley, Christina has always been active and enjoyed movement, whether its through sports or dance or outdoor activities. She danced with Footlight Dance Centre here in Hailey, studied the power of movement through dance ministry in Sydney and received her Pilates Certification through BASI in Orange County, California in 2008. Christina believes the body was created to move and life was to be lived integrated. You'll find her challenging friends, family and coworkers, and the occasional stranger to go out for a walk, participate in a quick Series of 5 or asking if they've worked their pelvic floor today. She enjoys Pilates because it's inclusive and beneficial to all body types, and she is currently interested and exploring in seeing how it benefits the pre and post natal population.
Denise has been involved in movement training and exploration for over 30 years and believes a strong and fluid body transfers to ones attitude and helps to navigate life. Denises dance training began in the 70s, Pilates in the 90s and Gyrotonic Expansion System came in the early 2000s. The gentle hands on healing of Cranial Sacral Therapy completes her education as a compassionate and educated practitioner. Denise loves sharing her discoveries with her clients and leading them to find their own.
Pure Bliss Instructor
Dori has been teaching for 25 plus years. She has choreographed musicals, State champion routines, and award winning parade shows. She is a former NBA dancer and choreographer and dance performance judge. Some of the companies she has taught for include 24 hour fitness, United Spirit Assoc. and Barre3. Her extensive dance training includes modern, jazz, ballet and tap. She has additional training in Yoga, Pilates and Barre.
Jacqui Shanklin-Terra’s interest in movement of the body began when she witnessed her first ballet class at age 3. A love affair with dance ensued and she practiced ballet, jazz, modern and tap in the Wood River Valley and then continued through college. During high school she began dabbling in yoga and Pilates to further her dance practice. In 1998 she completed Kelly Kane’s Physical-Mind Institute Pilates certification. Jacqui is also an E-RYT 500 registered through the yoga alliance since 2008. She was certified through Shanti Yoga School of Idaho in the interdisciplinary approach, and now serves on Shanti’s Teaching staff. She is a committed student of yoga and the Pilates method and hopes to deliver the gift of mindful movement in an approachable, fun and interesting way. Jacqui teaches: vinyasa-flow, gentle yoga, introductory yoga, group mat, and private sessions in yoga, pilates and cranial sacral.
Born in Portland, Oregon, Jen moved to the Wood River Valley in 2000 and began practicing Pilates in early 2009 after her first son was born via C-section. After pregnancy and surgery, she felt out of touch with her core and originally approached Pilates as a way to get her body back after having a baby. What happened instead was unexpected and life changing. Jen’s athletic background was in gymnastics, running, and snowboarding- high impact and one-sided activities, and over time she had sustained stress injuries, experienced recurring tendinitis, and had regular neck, shoulder, and hip pain that limited mobility. As she practiced Pilates, she became aware of significant imbalances in her body that were contributing to, if not outright causing, the pain she was experiencing. As Jen committed to her Pilates practice and began to strengthen and increase the flexibility of her whole body, the imbalances diminished and the persistent pain disappeared. Her focus shifted and she began to see Pilates less as a workout and more as an integral piece of a healthy lifestyle. Jen believes that Pilates is healing and that committing to a regular practice allows you to build a strong, flexible foundation from which to lead an active life and enjoy it fully! She is committed to helping her clients achieve their fitness goals and feel happy, mobile, and strong in their bodies. Jen began the intensive Balanced Body 500 hour instructor training program in January 2015 and has completed all anatomy, mat, reformer, and apparatus modules.
Kelsey grew up in the green mountains of Vermont with a strong curiosity in regards to the mind/body connection. She began practicing asana at 10 years old while on a wilderness expedition when one of the guides taught her the pose sequence known as surya namaskar (sun salutation). She continued the study of asana on her own while playing various team sports including soccer, basketball and downhill ski racing. After a season of college lacrosse she decided to leave the competitive sports world and focus more on yoga. Throughout her studies at the University of Vermont she added other yoga practices to her life, including meditation and study of the more esoteric aspects of the tradition. Recently she has been intrigued by the physical connection of the neurons and nerves through out the body as well as maximizing anatomical function. As an avid reader she keeps current on peer reviewed studies as well as anecdotal accounts regarding physical activity, mental capacity, and human development. Kelsey is currently recognized by Yoga Alliance as a Registered Yoga Teacher at the 200 hour level and she is in the process of working towards her 500 hour certification; more information is available at her website www.kelseyjohndrow.com.

Santa Barbara native, Megan McCann, began her career in the fitness industry in 2006 when she became a certified personal trainer. As she began training clients, she realized that she loved the personal connection/counseling aspect to working with people. As a result, she went back to school to receive her Masters of Educational Counseling (M.Ed) from USC. Her extensive background in both fitness and counseling allows her to coach her students through the holistic approach in connecting mind, body, and spirit. She is a pilates and yoga instructor, and specializes in nutrition and weight loss. "Of all the areas of fitness I have studied, I believe the combination of pilates and yoga to be the most effective! I feel myself working muscles I never knew I had, while also getting stronger and more flexible than ever before. After years of injury through competitive sports and playing Division 1 college softball, my body broke down. Pilates & yoga have helped re-structure and restore balance so I can be active again and do things I never thought I could ever do. " As a small business owner, she runs her nutrition and fitness business with her husband Luc and (future health coach) 2 year old daughter Mykala. She has helped hundreds of people achieve significant health results through the holistic approach to wellness: fitness, nutrition, and mindset. Owner and Senior Instructor, grew up here in Hailey and took her first Pilates class in 1991 at Inner Flo with Beth Chiodo. As an aspiring dancer she quickly discovered the benefits of the Pilates method. Alysha continued to practice Pilates in Seattle where she received a BFA in Dance from Cornish College of the Arts. In 2000 she entered and completed the rigorous 600 hour training course through Authentic Pilates in Atlanta GA. She taught pilates and danced professionally in the Atlanta area for four years, where she also completed her massage schooling, earning certifications in Swedish, Clinical Sports and Neuromuscular massage therapies from the Academy of Somatic Healing Arts. A strong believer in a complete education, Alysha takes every opportunity to study other forms of Pilates such as Stott, Kane Core Integration, Power Pilates, and Physical Mind. Along the way Alysha added Source Connection Therapy, Cranial Sacral and Reiki to her massage repertoire. She also practices yoga regularly and completed Hailey Yoga Centers 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training in July, 2011. Alysha combines all of her knowledge and a lot of intuition to assist her clients in achieving their goals. Alysha balances her time between her love of dance; she is a founding member and principal dancer of Galway Contemporary Dance Theatre, Ireland, and Dirty Feet Dance Company here in Hailey, her precious animal friends, her beautiful boyfriend and her joy of teaching. I use my teaching to create space, foster knowledge, and encourage playfulness in my students. A Twin Falls native, I trained in Brooklyn, New York, and taught there through mid-2016 before moving back to Idaho. My classes are dynamic and alignment-aware, with a focus on mindful, breath-focused sequences that challenge the body and calm the mind. I draw inspiration from a variety of styles including Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin, Restorative, and Ashtanga. I believe the body is a great teacher and want to facilitate the relationship between mind and body so students can use yoga to explore exactly who they are.
Lauren Svoma grew up in Scottsdale Arizona where a back ground in dance and yoga led her to a career in massage therapy. For over 25 years Lauren has worked as a licensed massage therapist specializing in several modalities including: Swedish, Therapeutic, Aroma- therapy, Reflexology, and Hot Stone Massage. Though she enjoyed working in many of Scottsdale's' finer resort Spas, Lauren feels so blessed to be residing in the beautiful cool climate of Hailey. Yoga Asana & Pranayama
Victoria Roper was first introduced to yoga in 1969, and it has become a constant unifying thread in her life. She began teaching yoga formally in the 1990’s. Having studied with a wide range of esteemed teachers, she holds E-RYT 500 certification with Yoga Alliance. Believing that yoga is accessible to all, Victoria loves introducing students to Pranayama, the Yoga of the Breath.
I was drawn to massage therapy because of my fascination with the human body in combination with the ability to give the wonderful gift that a massage is. I received my initial massage training at Ralston School of Massage in Reno, Nevada, graduating in 2001. I have provided massage in the spa, clinic and private practice settings, but most of all enjoying doing it in a multidimensional, health-minded environment such as Pure Body Pilates. My family and I made the Wood River Valley our home in 2010 after years of visiting and never wanting to leave. I love the small town mountain life and all the experiences and beauty it has to offer. In college, Zoe worked in the Adaptive Physical Education Program as an Assistant Physical Therapist. Designing and guiding workouts for students of all ages rehabilitating after injuries and surgeries. She branched out and interned in the Santa Rosa Sports Medicine Department for 2years with resident Olympic Athletic Trainer Byron Craighead. Training alongside him and his field team providing first aid and training room support keeping college athletes in top form for their sports. This involvement led to her accreditation as an Emergency Medical Technician. Working on an Ambulance at the San Francisco International Airport. Interning with local Fire Departments, while volunteering with the Urban Search and Rescue. Two years ago she took some time off to travel and bike tour the island of Maui, in Italy, Switzerland, Croatia and England. Zoe decided to focus on teaching when back in the U.S. Invested in Pilates since 2007, she continues her education with workshops and independent studies. Certified with Pilates Integrated Teacher Training in San Francisco, California.
